Unitarian Universalist services are similar to most other churches. There are readings and hymns, often live instrumental or choral music. There is a time for people to share significant events in their lives. There is usually a story for children early in the service, before they leave the sanctuary for their classes downstairs. You are welcome to visit and to explore with us.
Unless otherwise noted all services and children's religious education programs occur on Sunday at 10:30am. Child care is available.

Gutenberg’s Crime The Bible was once a living document with a rich oral tradition. Hard copies were rare, and thus people’s understanding was from a shared viewpoint. But printing the Bible froze it in time. There was only one phrasing, translation, or interpretation. I hold that freezing the Bible in time also froze Christianity in time. From the day of Gutenberg forward, the “Word of God” has become progressively out of step with the reality of the world. We could call this “Gutenberg’s Crime.” This was the first message that I brought to Northlake three years ago and you will not be surprised to find that it, too, has changed. |
