Intentional Living
We affirm and support the interdependent web of all life.

Home. Our castle? Our fortress? Or maybe — our jail?
How much space do we need? How much space dare we occupy? What about the materials we use to build the walls that make the space — where do they come from? are the raw materials renewable? are they toxic? do they increase our dependency on electricity and petroleum — or reduce it?
And what about those among us who can’t even find walls to shape a space — who use cardboard, or car doors, or the concrete intersection of freeway and on–ramp to create the illusion of domain?
Habitat for Humanity; strawbale construction; hydroponic heating; intentional community housing — something for everyone, something for all of us:
- Lawns — cut them high and let them lie! Compost clippings or use a mulching mower. Keep mower blades sharp. Water to attain 1” per week — and do it in the morning to avoid evaporation. Grass that is brown is probably dormant, not dead.
- Look out for toxic products. Dispose of paints, varnishes, batteries properly.Avoid using pesticides, poisons, and weed–killers.
- Consider using non–toxic paints and washes.
- Are you remodeling or building? Have you considered “green” building methods and materials? Solar power, hydroponic heating, strawbale construction — many alternative methods of construction are becoming economically feasible.
- Support Habitat for Humanity.
