Intentional Living
We affirm and support the interdependent web of all life.
— Unitarian Universalist Association, Seventh Principle.
Well, doesn’t it come down to this? “The interdependent web”, that is. We share this earth with other living things (some even say that Earth, herself, is a living thing!). And among the beings on this world, we are the only ones who can damage its systems to the point of failure — or heal them. If we do not shape a sustainable way of living, Earth will not sustain.
Northlake is pleased to be home to the East Lake Washington Audubon Society, who keep shop in our downstairs offices. Come on by, stop in, take a look, see what these folks are doing for our wildfowl and songbirds (and buy some shade–grown coffee while you are there).
Check these out:
- The Audubon Society shelters it’s East Lake Washington branch in Northake’s building. Come visit!
- Get intimate with one of our glorious local parks. Kirkland itself is blessed with many, many parklands set aside for our enjoyment. Our own beautiful Juanita Bay Park offers trails, water and wetland wildlife, and guided tours.(For fun, take an online video tour!)
