Fourth Annual Quilt Raffle, 2007
The Northlake Seamsters Union has unveiled this year’s Raffle Quilts — yes, plural! This year we have created a series of four quilts to represent the four seasons. Each quilt is 45” by 45” finished and is designed to be a wall hanging. Special thanks this year to Jackie Mason for most of the sewing to construct the quilts, to Sandy Peterson for donating the batting and printing the raffle tickets and to all “Union members” who used their “stash” fabrics to create a stunning variety of squares from which the quilts were made.
The quilts will be hanging in the church foyer starting Sunday, September 23rd, and will be raffled — to four lucky winners this time — on Sunday, December 23rd, 2007. Raffle tickets will be available starting in September from Seamsters Union members and will cost $5.00 for one ticket or 5 tickets for $20.00.
The proceeds from the quilts raffled in 2004, 2005 and 2006 have been used for lighting upgrades in the sanctuary, the new pulpit and four accessory tables, hearing assistive devices now being used at Sunday services and a contribution to the Music Committee for this year. The ongoing fund raising efforts by the Seamsters Union will continue to provide improvements and enhancements to the Northlake Sanctuary.
The Seamsters Union (aka the Quilt Circle) is a group of Northlake members and friends who meet the third Monday of every month at 7 PM at the church to enjoy all aspects of quilting, sewing and/or crafts. All people interested in the quilting and crafting are welcome! For additional information, please contact Kathy Bean, , or 425-788-0637. Come, enjoy the new quilts, picture one of them in your home and purchase your chance to call it yours!
