Potluck Circle Suppers
The fifth circle supper(s) of the year will be held on Saturday, May 17th, 2008. You need not be a member to participate.
Circle Suppers are held on the third Saturday of every month. Sign up in church or contact Peg Blackstone, , or 360–668–0132 to be a host or a guest.
Attending a Northlake potluck circle supper is one of the best ways to become integrated into the Northlake community. If you would like to get to know folks beyond the Sunday “hello” this is a must for you!
This year, the format will be different — potlucks will be limited to 8 people for more intimate conversation. People who are willing to host will indicate this as they sign up to participate, and will be called on as needed.
The fourth circle supper(s) of the year will be held on Saturday, April 26th. You need not be a member to participate.
If you haven't been to a Circle Supper yet, give them a try — they are always lots of fun.
Hi all,
I want to clarify the nature of the new-format Circle Supper(s). We are using a format from the olden days at Northlake, in which the suppers were limited to eight people. Should more than eight folks sign up, a second or even third potluck will be held that evening. On the sign up sheet, people are asked to indicate whether they would be willing to be a host.
Afew days before the supper date, I look at how many are wanting to come to one, and then assign six or seven to each host who has volunteered. So two or three dinners may be held on the same Circle Supper date. To date, it looks like we probably will have enough for at least two potlucks on the 16th of February, our next date. I did get a number of late-comers last month, so maybe even three are possible.
The host determines the starting time, usually somewhere around 6:30, and contacts the people who are assigned to them. The host also arranges who will bring what. It's also OK to just leave that decision up to attendees, and take the chance that you may wind up with four salads....
This format allows folks to interact more closely - especially nice for newcomers who want to get to know Northlake members.
