Six times a year for the past 17 years, Northlake participates in the Tuesday night Community Supper for low–income families through Kirkland Interfaith Transitions in Housing (KITH). We cater a nutritious hot meal, and and then sit down to eat with the guests.
Community Supper for low-income families is held every Tuesday at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Juanita. Each week, the catering rotates among different congregations and community groups. Northlake's volunteers work from 5:15 to 7:00 pm on the first Tuesday of even months. Including our group of helpers, we usually expect to serve 70-90 people. Dinner is served at 6:00, and after serving the guests, helpers get to sit down and eat with the regular folks. We're usually done by 7 pm. We have a lot of fun. Come join us! Holy Spirit Lutheran Church is located on the corner of NE 124th St and 100th Ave NE in the Juanita area of Kirkland.
Our menu varies. We generally serve about 70-90 people. Here is what we typically need:
Menu items to serve 10–12 people
Your favorite hot or cold main dish
Your favorite salad or veggies
Dessert, including fruit, cookies, whatever your heart desires
We procure the bread, milk, and juice at Costco using funds donated to the KITH basket on Sundays during coffee hour! If you can’t make it, there's always the next time.
Let me know if you can help and what you’d like to do.
Blessings,
