Northlake has a new minister!!

Rev. Marian Stewart

Members and friends of Northlake voted overwhelmingly to call Rev. Marian Stewart to be their full-time minister effective Sept. 1, 2008. Out of 55 members voting at the congregational meeting held June 8, 2008, 53 voted "yes" to call Marian.

In addition, 6 friends of the church not eligible to vote as members also voted yes on a special ballot for friends. One very new member who was unsure of his voting status voted yes on a provisional ballot, one member left the meeting early because of illness but said she wanted to vote yes, and two long-time members who haven't attended recently said they would have voted yes but thought the active members should be the ones to vote.

While the search committee thought its work was done, most search committee members will be participating in the transition process and serving on the Committee on Ministry for at least the first 6 months that Marian serves as our minister. We all want to work to create a smooth transition.
